Minister Oliver Announces Appointment of New Member to the National Energy Board
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 05/07/12 -- The Honourable Joe Oliver, Minister of Natural Resources, today announced the appointment of Alison Scott as a temporary member of the National Energy Board (NEB).
"I am pleased to announce the appointment of Alison Scott as a new member of the National Energy Board," said Minister Oliver. Her skills, knowledge and experience will be of tremendous benefit to the Board as it continues to fulfil its mandate."
Ms. Scott has served in a number of senior government positions in Nova Scotia, including Deputy Minister for the Department of Energy and Deputy Minister of Intergovernmental Affairs. She was called to the Nova Scotia Bar and is a former solicitor and litigator with the Nova Scotia Department of Justice. Ms. Scott holds a Bachelor of Law degree from Dalhousie Law School.
The NEB is an independent federal agency established by the Parliament of Canada to regulate international and interprovincial aspects of the oil, gas and electric utility industries. The purpose of the NEB is to regulate pipelines, energy development and trade in the Canadian public interest.
