Germany-based company develops measuring system for physical mobility assessment

(firmenpresse) - „Mobee“ is a new computer supported measuring system for the assessment of human physical mobility. The system was first presented to the public at the German FIBO trade fair after its Bitburg-based inventor and developer SportMed AG applied for patent protection earlier this year.

The system consists of a lightweight measuring device equipped with three different sensors and a computer software which displays and assesses the measuring results. Measurement sequences with up to 8 different measurements can be selected based on general health aspects or sports-specific needs.

Measuring results are assessed by means of comparison with age- and gender-specific reference values which have been assembled by the Cologne-based IPN institute. In addition to single results, an overall mobility score is calculated by the system based on range of motion and symmetry values.

The system was nominated for the FIBO Innovation Award and will be available for sale in the so-called “fit” version as of late June. “Mobee fit” focuses on customers in the health-oriented fitness and wellness sector, such as personal trainers, gyms and corporate health providers.
