Canadian Trade Delegates Invited to Experience the Wines of Valdepenas

Earlier this spring, a small delegation of members of Canada's wine trade chosen by the P.D.O. Valdepenas (Protected Designation of Origin) visited the region to learn more about the wines of Valdepenas.
With a new logo and new global marketing program, the P.D.O. Valdepenas aims to send out the message that PDO Valdepenas wines are different from the rest, with their own original style.
Valdepenas Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) is the organization that guarantees the uncompromising quality through strict monitoring of every step of wine production, maintaining the levels of popularity that have long been enjoyed by Valdepenas wines throughout their long and illustrious history.
"The PDO Valdeneas was excited to host key trade influencers from Canada," said Vanessa Castillo Quiros, Marketing Director of PDO Valdepenas. "We grow 12 different types of grapes in the Valdepenas Designation of Origin, which means we can make wines with a unique style and personality, so Canadians can always find the perfect Valdepenas wine for every occasion."
Consumers can now identify Valdepenas wines from the label on the back of all the bottles protected by the Designation of Origin. The generic back label for the D.O. Valdepenas was redesigned in 2011 to include the new logo.
Valdepenas wines are 100 per cent Spanish with a unique origin and one of the second most widely-consumed P.D.O. in Spain, meaning that it is only a "Valdepenas" if the grapes are grown and the wine is made and bottled in this unique region at the heart of Spain.
