The UK has already been hit by almost three inches of rainfall, with heavier downpours still to come in areas such as South-West England, with mid-air tornadoes being spotted in locations such as Hampshire, Hertfordshire, Lincolnshire, Manchester and East Anglia.

"For example, storing valuable items higher up reduces the likely loss at little or no cost. In high-risk premises, consider investing in flood-protection products, which may help to reduce your costs.
Swinton Commercial recommends two ways to reduce flood damage for your business:
