(firmenpresse) - MIAMI, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 04/25/12 -- Rachel Albert's debut young-adult novel, "Quest to Telos," (), is a fantasy adventure wrapped around a very real message: Kids hold the keys to world peace; they can change the world.

The young hero in "Telos" is Adam Mason, a sensitive, insecure boy who feels like an outsider both at school and at home. Unbeknownst to him, he's been selected to lead a mission -- the planet's last hope -- because he is a rare 13-year-old: one with the kindness, compassion and purity of a much younger child and the maturity of a teenager, without the characteristic self-centeredness and skepticism.

"Adam finds himself on a journey to Telos in the center of the Earth, where an advanced civilization lives and monitors the surface world," explains Albert. "The Lemurians are watching with growing concern as evil takes over. Earth is on the brink of annihilation."

The only hope is for young people to open their hearts and form a collective consciousness of love to start a chain reaction of love and peace that derails the cycle of destruction, she says. And it can only start with children because they have the necessary open minds, natural kindness and belief that anything is possible.

In the novel, Adam's tools are Telos Energy Bands -- crystal bracelets he must distribute to children in order to help amplify the love in their hearts. In real life, Albert says, crystals have amazing powers to remove negativity, restore and expand love, decrease nervousness and draw out guilt. As a companion to the book, readers can get their own Telos Energy Bands of tourmaline, hematite, lepidolite, chrysocolla, and copper at .

"Quest to Telos," with its message of the powers of positive thinking, both for personal growth and as a way to increase the good in the world, has already received glowing reviews. Dr. Sarah Allison, dean of Allison Academy in North Miami Beach, plans to use the book as a teaching tool with a curriculum Albert is developing.

"Even reluctant readers will find this truly engaging tale irresistible," she writes. "A unique gem the whole family will enjoy."
