Parvus Receives $1 Million Order for Rugged IP Routers in Support of Missile Defense Program
Parvus DuraMAR Router Provides Air Defense System With IP Network Connectivity Using Cisco Mobile Router Technology in MIL-STD Qualified Design
(firmenpresse) - SALT LAKE CITY, UT -- (Marketwire) -- 04/24/12 -- Eurotech subsidiary announces it has received a $1 Million (USD) order for DuraMAR mobile routers in support of a US Department of Defense (DoD) missile defense program. These rugged Commercial Off the Shelf (COTS) networking subsystems are being integrated by a DoD prime contractor into a mobile air defense platform being upgraded with IP network connectivity. Due to non-disclosure agreements, no further details about the customer can be provided. Deliveries will take place this year.
This order builds on a history of Parvus supplying rugged network routers / switches to major missile defense programs. Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) technology refresh and insertion programs routinely specify Parvus' DuraMAR networking appliances for situational awareness and network centric operations due to their robust MIL-STD qualified designs, and the Information Assurance (IA) certifications and software capabilities of the Cisco IOS® software. They are designed for use in airborne, ground, manned or unmanned vehicle applications with compliance to extreme environmental conditions per MIL-STD-810G (thermal, shock, vibration, humidity, dust, water), EMI/EMC per MIL-STD-461F, and power input/transients per MIL-STD-704/1275.
DuraMAR rugged switch / router subsystems incorporate Cisco IOS® software with capabilities to provide highly secure data, voice and video communications to stationary and mobile network nodes across both wired and wireless links. When combined with UHF, VHF, Wi-Fi and other radio platforms, these routers enable transparent roaming over multiple wireless networks, without requiring a connection to central infrastructure. Being based on Cisco technology, these subsystems delivers the performance, security, advanced Quality of Service (QoS), high availability and manageability expected from Cisco Enterprise IOS-based routing technology.
Parvus' latest DuraMAR model, the DuraMAR 5915 is available as either a standalone 5 port router or with an integrated Gigabit Ethernet switch for a total of 19 Ethernet ports. The unit is completely sealed against dust and water ingress, requires no active cooling, provides interfaces over MIL-C-38999 style connectors, and features a military-grade power supply supporting aircraft (MIL-STD-704F) and ground/marine (MIL-STD-1275D) vehicle voltage inputs, spikes, and transient levels, as well as MIL-STD-461F EMI/EMC filtering. It supports extensive IPv4 and IPv6 routing protocols, IP multicasting, Radio Aware Routing (RAR), Dynamic Link Exchange Protocol (DLEP) and Mobile IP routing for transparent connectivity to a roaming vehicle network in Comms on the Move (COTM) applications. An onboard AES hardware encryption engine offloads encryption processing from the router to provide highly secure yet scalable data, video, and voice services.
