Minister Raitt Addresses Kamloops Business and Trade Leaders
(firmenpresse) - KAMLOOPS, BRITISH COLUMBIA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/17/12 -- The Honourable Lisa Raitt, Canada's Labour Minister, today addressed the Kamloops Chamber of Commerce through a keynote address on the economy and current labour initiatives. Minister Raitt was also accompanied by Cathy McLeod, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of National Revenue and Member of Parliament for Kamloops-Thompson-Cariboo.
"The entrepreneurial sector is a key player in driving forward Canada's economy," said Minister Raitt. "Economic Action Plan 2012 brings additional support to businesses, promotes job creation and supports Canadians with relief measures when they need them the most."
The Kamloops Chamber of Commerce endeavors to foster good working relationships with all business organizations within Kamloops. It encourages collaborative work to build a stronger, unified city that encourages business growth and a better lifestyle for all its citizens.
The Labour Program develops, administers and enforces workplace legislation and regulations, such as the Canada Labour Code. These laws cover industrial relations, health and safety, as well as employment standards, and apply to federally regulated workers and employers.
