Atlanta Airport Announces Schedule for International Terminal Concessions
Most Concessions to Open on May 16
(firmenpresse) - ATLANTA, GA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/17/12 -- Airport officials announced today a concessions rollout schedule for the Maynard H. Jackson Jr. International Terminal and its 12-gate concourse, set to open May 16.
More than twenty retail outlets, restaurant choices and other services will greet passengers from around the world on opening day.
"With a majority of shopping and dining locations available, we'll have plenty of great options for our passengers on opening day," said Aviation General Manager Louis Miller. "Additional locations will open throughout the spring and summer."
Dining locations scheduled to be open May 16 are Sweet Auburn Market Café, French Meadow Bakery, Pei Wei Asian Diner, The Varsity, The Original El Taco and The Pecan.
Shopping choices set for opening day are The Body Shop, Tommy Hilfiger, Kiehl's, Sunglass Icon, Touch Table, Clutch, Brookstone, InMotion Entertainment, Simply Books, two CNN International News locations and two duty-free stores.
Other facilities and services, including an interfaith chapel, ATMs and vending machines, will also be available on opening day.
Additional shopping and dining choices will open throughout the spring and summer. These include MAC Cosmetics, Jekyll Island Seafood Co., Ecco Kitchen, Lorena Garcia Tapas Bar and Maison Mathis/Illy/Stella Artois. Sleep and spa accommodations and a common-use lounge also will open later this year.
Planning, design and construction of the international terminal project created about 3,000 jobs. Nearly 1,000 jobs are expected to be created to operate and maintain the 1.2 million-square-foot facility. Construction began in summer 2008. The facility connects with the existing international concourse, creating a world-class, 40-gate air travel complex. The international terminal will eliminate the need for Atlanta-bound passengers to recheck their baggage. Passengers will access the international terminal via I-75 at Exit 239.
