The new leg begins on June 19 in Ithica, NY, and ends on July 29 in Los Angeles, CA. The tour promotes her fourth album The Idler Wheel..., which will be released on June 19.
This tour continues Apple's re-emergence to a national audience after playing mostly Los Angeles-area shows since 2007. The journey began with an extremely well-received performance at the South by Southwest® music festival in mid-March and was followed up by a brief but successful tour through Northeastern cities at the end of the month.
Apple got her start in 1995 after signing to Sony® Music Entertainment. She released her hit debut album Tidal in 1996, leading to a Grammy® for the single "Criminal." She followed up with When the Pawn... in 1999 and Extraordinary Machine in 2005. Apple is known for alt-rock music with jazz influences and for her lengthy, poetic album titles, as seen in the full titles of When the Pawn... and The Idler Wheel....
