Comerica Bank Senior Vice President Cathy Schlumbrecht Named Board Chair of Natividad Medical Foundation
(firmenpresse) - SALINAS, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 04/12/12 -- Natividad Medical Foundation, the fundraising arm of Natividad Medical Center, Monterey County's safety net hospital, has named Comerica Bank Senior Vice President of Business Banking as chair of the Foundation's Board of Directors.
Natividad Medical Foundation President and CEO announced Schlumbrecht's appointment at the foundation's recent annual meeting. In accepting the appointment as board chair, Schlumbrecht cited a $240,050 donation from (TALC), which consists of 101 leading agriculture-related businesses, as exemplary of the community's support for Natividad Medical Foundation.
"Everyone on the Natividad Medical Foundation board and extended community of backers has answered the call to ensure Salinas Valley's farmworkers and their families have affordable access to essential medical care," said Schlumbrecht. "Now, we want to expand our community's awareness of the urgent needs at Natividad and the opportunities to tangibly improve the health status of Monterey County."

Cathy Schlumbrecht is a fundraising spark-plug for many nonprofits including the Natividad Medical Foundation. Her reputation for seeing social need and doing something about it is well earned. A long-time board member and past-president of the Santa Cruz Area Chamber of Commerce, Cathy founded Cruzin' Courses, a progressive dinner in downtown Santa Cruz. She was a principal in developing both the Santa Cruz Women in Business and its equivalent in Salinas.
As Senior Vice President and 28-year employee at Comerica Bank, Cathy has melded her role as a business banker with engagement in the larger community in the best traditions of local banking. Having served on numerous boards, she is a current board member with Hartnell Community College and co-chair of their annual fund raising event Party in the Library, chairs IMPOWER a Salinas Valley Chamber of Commerce program that she co-founded with Margaret D'Arrigo-Martin. Cathy was named the Santa Cruz Chamber of Commerce Woman of the Year-2011 for her 28 years of serving the Santa Cruz community and raising hundreds of thousands of dollars for organizations she served.
