Berlin, April 12, 2012 - The shareholders of Design Hotels AG elected four new
Supervisory Board members at today's Annual Shareholder Meeting of Design Hotels
AG (m:access, München: LBA; ISIN: DE0005141006). The four representatives of
former main shareholder Arabella Hospitality SE had resigned as a consequence of
the acquisition of the shares in Design Hotels by Starwood Hotels & Resorts
Worldwide Inc. The newly elected Supervisory Board members Roeland Vos, Adam
Diamond, Oliver Bonke and Daniel Ruff have been elected for the period until the
end of the Annual Shareholder Meeting, which approves of the actions of the
Management Board for the financial year 2013.
CEO Claus Sendlinger thanked the representatives of Arabella Hospitality SE and
Schörghuber Unternehmensgruppe Dr. Jürgen Büllesbach, Dr. Christoph Scherk,
Bernhard Taubenberger and Reinhold Weise for the cooperation and support.
In 2011, Design Hotels AG recorded a revenue increase of approx. 11% to Euro
10.4m. As expected and previously announced, EBITDA decreased by approx. 25% to
Euro 0.442m. Reasons for the decrease were investments in human resources and
new technology.
Management confirmed its outlook for current financial year 2012 projecting
lower double digit revenue growth and above average improvement of the
operational results and pre-tax profits.
"2012 has started positively with all three business units performing better
than expected. We have a good number of prospective member hotels in the
pipeline; transaction revenues are developing well, and there is a steady demand
for our marketing products and services. Even though the impact of the first
quarter is relatively low compared to the rest of the year, we see this
development as a confirmation of our strategy and activities," says Claus
Sendlinger at the Annual Shareholder Meeting.
