NCSBN Publishes New Research Brief

ID: 1102216

(firmenpresse) - CHICAGO, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 04/12/12 -- The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) sets an ambitious research agenda designed to advance the science of nursing regulation. NCSBN recently added to its body of research with the publication of a new research brief titled "2011 RN Practice Analysis: Linking the NCLEX-RN Examination to Practice."

The "2011 RN Practice Analysis: Linking the NCLEX-RN Examination to Practice" assists NCSBN in evaluating the validity of the test plan that guides content distribution of the licensure examination. Because changes can occur in registered nurse (RN) practice, practice analyses are conducted on a three-year cycle.

NCSBN offers more than 50 volumes of research studies that include practice analyses and national surveys of the profession, covering topics such as nursing education and professional issues. These research briefs are downloadable free of charge by visiting .

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose members include the boards of nursing in the 50 states, the District of Columbia and four U.S. territories -- American Samoa, Guam, Northern Mariana Islands and the Virgin Islands. There are also nine associate members.

Mission: NCSBN provides education, service and research through collaborative leadership to promote evidence-based regulatory excellence for patient safety and public protection.

The statements and opinions expressed are those of NCSBN and not the individual member state or territorial boards of nursing.
