Branksome Hall's Award-winning Mystery Art Show-'take pART'-Returns
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 04/12/12 -- Artwork from dozens of artists will be on display and available for purchase for just $100 each. The catch: the name of the artist remains a mystery until after the purchase. Some perceptive collectors will head home with their new additions valued upwards of $500.
The mystery art sale and auction is a highlight of take pART, the returning and highly anticipated fundraising event hosted by the Branksome Hall Alumnae Association. This year's take pART will be held at the Arta Gallery in the Distillery District on Thursday, April 19, 2012, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Participating artists, including some Branksome alumnae, have donated their artwork - all of which are 10" x 10". The works are signed on the back, hung in a grid, and priced at $100 each.
"The event will bring together many of Toronto's most dynamic visual artists and will introduce their work to a new art collecting audience," says curator and contributing artist Sarah Merry, who is also a Branksome graduate. "It's a gorgeous showcase of work in a great space."
Launched in 2010, take pART received a 2011 Bronze Award for Best Alumni Event in the Prix d'Excellence competition, sponsored by the Canadian Council for the Advancement of Education.
All proceeds from the event will go toward student financial aid at Branksome Hall, an IB World School for girls, which is located in the heart of Toronto.
Advance tickets for take pART are $45; at the door, $50. Admission includes complimentary wine, beer and hors d'oeuvres. Tickets can be ordered at or by calling 416-920-6265, ext. 137.
