Scientists Have Discovered What Many Are Heralding as a "Breakthrough" in the Treatment of Enlarged Prostates, Leading to Acclaim From Physicians Around the Country, Including Noted Urologist Dr. Michael Kaplan

(firmenpresse) - LAS VEGAS, NV -- (Marketwire) -- 04/09/12 -- There have long been many different treatments available for men with enlarged prostates. Some of these treatments come with high risk factors and potential side effects, while others are thought to be safer. However, a new suggests that there may be a new treatment available that will offer ample benefits. In fact, some scientists have already speculated that the new treatment could be a "breakthrough." Naturally, it has won the attention, and in many cases the acclaim, of doctors around the country, including noted urologist Dr. Michael Kaplan.

What makes the new treatment so noteworthy is the fact that it is not only potentially effective, but also non-invasive. In fact, this new treatment for enlarged prostates is essentially non-surgical. It involves the implantation of tiny beads, used to block the blood flow to a man's prostate -- and thus shrink it.

The new treatment, devised by researchers in Brazil, has been heralded as a non-invasive way for men to "[get] their lives back." It has initially proven very effective in minimizing urinary symptoms and offering relief to the discomfort that often accompanies an enlarged prostate, all without the numerous side effects that tend to come with prostate surgeries.

The gist of the new procedure is that a catheter is used to insert the beads to block the flood flow to the prostate. This relieves pressure on the urethra.

And while the new treatment is still being tested, it has already won praise from leading members of the medical community. Las Vegas urologist is one of the first to express enthusiasm for the treatment. "This technique may offer another alternative, in the future, to the large variety of innovative techniques that are currently available," he notes. Indeed, Dr. Michael Kaplan already has a reputation for implementing the latest in medical procedures to treat prostate issues, as well as to minimize the pain and recovery times experienced by his patients.

Meanwhile, one of the researchers behind the new study expresses optimism for the future of prostate treatment. "[T]hese new findings provide hope for those who might not be candidates for transurethral resection of the prostate, or TURP -- and may allow them to avoid serious complications that sometime result from surgery, such as impotence, retrograde ejaculation and urinary incontinence," notes Dr. Francisco Cesar Carnevale.

And while the new procedure is still being tested, the early trials have yielded overwhelmingly good results. The treatment has been used on eleven different men, virtually all of whom showed signs of improvement to some degree.
