Swinton Taxi Division continues the search for 'Cabbie of the Year 2012'

(firmenpresse) - MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 04/02/12 -- Entries for this year's 'Cabbie of the Year' awards are coming in fast as the search continues for the country's greatest cabbies.

Swinton Taxi Division, the UK's leading high street broker of , is on the hunt for the best taxi drivers in the country, and has already received over 300 entries for this years' competition.

Britain's best cabbies are being encouraged to enter in order to win the coveted title of 'Cabbie of the Year 2012'.

The winner will also receive a cheque for a whopping GBP 1,000 and drive away with a year's free - a prize worth thousands of pounds.

Set to get horns tooting, Swinton Taxi Division is giving something back to hard working cabbies, even offering prizes of GBP 500 for second place and GBP 250 for third.

To enter, hopeful cabbies are being asked to explain - in no more than 150 words - why you (the cabbie) or your local taxi driver are worthy of receiving the lucrative title of 'Cabbie of the Year 2012'; Swinton's expert judging panel will then pick the winner.

The competition opened for entries on 1st February 2012 and is due to close on 30th April 2012.

The presentation ceremony for the lucky winners will be held at the UK's largest private hire and taxi trade exhibition, Private Hire & Taxi Monthly in May 2012 at The Ricoh Arena.

Alex Cooke of Swinton Taxi Division said: "We're urging all taxi drivers, or those who know a taxi driver who continuously goes that extra mile for their customers to enter our competition.

"Taxi drivers work hard for their community on a daily basis, with many of us relying on them even for the smallest of journeys, whether that's to and from school or work, or even picking us up in an emergency.

"Swinton Taxi Division and the taxi industry want to recognise these achievements in our Cabbie of the Year 2012 awards."

Application forms will be available in the March and April issues of PHTM magazine. Drivers can also enter online at .
