Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center Commends Government Decision to Match Funds Up to $4 Million for National Holocaust Monument
(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 04/02/12 -- Friends of Simon Wiesenthal Center for Holocaust Studies (FSWC) commends the government's decision to provide $4 million in matching funds toward the building of a National Holocaust Monument in Ottawa.
"FSWC is happy to lend support to the government in this worthy endeavour to recognize one of the most horrific events in modern history," said Avi Benlolo, President and CEO of FSWC. "This morning's announcement at the War Museum in Ottawa was welcome news, particularly in this disturbing era of rampant Holocaust denial, and I was so pleased to have the opportunity to personally thank Ministers James Moore and Tim Uppal and Senator Linda Frum on announcing the incoming Development Council for the project," he added.
