SDTC CEO Comments on Federal Budget
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/29/12 -- Sustainable Development Technology Canada's President and CEO Vicky Sharpe released the following statement following the 2012 federal Budget:
In these tough economic times, SDTC is pleased to see the Government's emphasis on stimulating the economy through increasing business innovation. SDTC is a driver of business innovation. The Government, through SDTC, has been able to build companies that are self-sustaining, growing at twice the rate of their non-SDTC supported peers.
This budget recognizes the importance of direct support programs in delivering measureable benefits to Canadians and leveraging private-sector R&D, something SDTC has always espoused. SDTC has demonstrated a strong record of mobilizing private sector capital with over $3 billion and growing resulting from investments of $560 million.
In the coming months, SDTC looks forward to working with the Government as it considers how to structure its support in order to incent private sector investments and further respond to the recommendations of the Jenkins Report.
