Housebuilder Boosting Local Job Prospects
(firmenpresse) - LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 03/29/12 -- Leading housebuilder Barratt Homes promises to do its bit to improve local job prospects within the UK by continuing to build new developments.
Specifically Barratt Mercia has announced that it will be launching three new sites over the next six months. This will have the effect of creating hundreds of jobs for local people.
The new sites will be launching in Shrewsbury, Telford and Bicester in the final half of Barratt's financial year. In helping to build and sell the over the lifetime of the new projects 914 jobs will be created.
Barratt has confirmed that local people will benefit directly from these new jobs, due to the policy of employing local sub-contractors and tradesman to conduct the work.
Steve Barton, Sales Manager for Barratt Mercia said: "The Prime Minister has said again and again that one of the best ways to boost economic growth and get people working is through building more homes,"
"We expect to launch three new sites this year. These will provide desperately needed new homes for local people at a time when there is a chronic shortage of housing."
