Lantech Industrial IEC-61850 Switches successfully extending the mine site LAN for Global Advanced Metals
(PresseBox) - Global Advanced Metals (GAM) Australia is one of leading suppliers of tantalum products worldwide. Tantalum is a critical component in the manufacture of state-of-the art semiconductors which mainly used in the electronics industry. Recently, GAM adopted Lantech IES-2224-2P to extend the mine site LAN allowing their production staff accessing Internet, ERP system, retrieving data and real-time information from the mining production. Since nature resources are limited and rarer than before, high-tech IP network undoubtedly increase the efficiency in track tantalum's production from mine to metal.
The Ethernet network for mine sites must be non-stop, rugged and sustainable, to overcome the critical environment conditions and meet with GAM's requirements, Lantech IES-2224-2P has been selected to withstand the challenges due to it's ruggedize design with operation temperature from -40C to 85C.
Lantech IES-2224-2P is a 24-port 10/100TX + 2-port 1000 SFP Industrial Power Station L2 plus Managed Switch. IES-2224-2P is design for large network which builds in all the important software such as DHCP Option 82 (Relay agent), 256 Policy ACL for security, IGMP Query / Snooping and RSTP. The highly integrated Fast Ethernet switch interconnect with Gigabit backbone in core network which allowing production staff living onsite internet access conveniently. In order to connect and centrally manage PLCs, thermal detectors, sensors and other environment-controlling devices as well as system network in the mining sites, Global Advanced Metals deployed Lantech IES-2224-2P for their network construction.
Lantech IES-2224-2P is compliant with IEC-61850-3 & IEEE 1613 standard, and withstand extensive EMI/RFI phenomenon, lighting surge, inductive load switching, high ESD, high fault current environment.
