TASER Receives Two Significant TASER X2 ECD Orders
Safety Features Critical to Officers
(firmenpresse) - SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 03/27/12 -- (NASDAQ: TASR), a global provider of safety technologies that protect life, prevent conflict, and resolve disputes, today announced two significant orders for its new TASER X2 electronic control device (ECD).
TASER received the first order from the (MI) for 242 ECDs with 242 , 3,783 and various related accessories. The X2s will be utilized in the majority of Michigan prisons.
The second order received is from the (TX) for 200 ECDs with extended warranties, 1,385 and various related accessories.
These orders are expected to ship in the first quarter of 2012.
"The recent implementation of the TASER X2s in the Michigan Department of Corrections although recent, has shown a huge decrease in staff and prisoner injuries," said Edward Mize, Operations Administrator for Correctional Facilities Administration. "We have every intention of utilizing them in the majority of our facilities to help control combative and aggressive prisoners. Our goal is to equip our custody staff with the tools necessary to safely and effectively manage violent situations while attempting to mitigate injury to themselves and others. We are hopeful that as we move forward in the effort the need to utilize this tool diminishes and our prisoner population becomes more compliant to the rules and regulations of our facilities. When they are not, we feel we have found a tool that is effective and when administered judiciously and professionally, brings safer working conditions to our staff and safe living conditions to our population," concluded Mize.
