Mobile Access Now Available for California Veterans From Natoma Technologies
(firmenpresse) - SACRAMENTO, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/22/12 -- Natoma Technologies, Inc., an innovative provider of information technology and software services, along with their client, California Department of Veterans Affairs, announced a new mobile application for California veterans and their families.
With this new smartphone tool, veterans can now easily access their benefits and find services to help them successfully transition from military to civilian life. The mobile applications (apps) provide anywhere, anytime access to information about employment, education, housing, health, and other benefits and services available to California veterans. Available for both Android and iPhone devices, the apps describe specific veteran benefits including eligibility, providers, and hours of operation. Using GPS technology, the apps provide maps and driving directions to the nearest County Veterans Service Office, U.S. Department of Veterans health facilities and clinics, and other facilities and organizations offering services to veterans.
"These mobile apps are connected to the database so, if additional services are required, veterans can complete the mobile application form online. The form information is then programmatically sent to the targeted business area for action," noted Natoma's CEO, Marty McGartland. "Natoma Technologies is proud to be involved in an effort supporting California's veterans."
The CalVet mobile app was awarded "Best of Show" at the annual Government Mobility Conference last month -- beating all other contenders. The award was presented to the CalVet mobile app team by Assembly member Joan Buchanan and Technology Agency Secretary Carlos Ramos. The app was also a finalist in the "Most Innovative" app category.
