Long Island Capital Alliance Announces Major Success for Homeland Security and Defense Capital Forum
Save the Date: Technology Transfer Ideas to Be Presented at Next LICA Capital Forum on June 8, 2012
(firmenpresse) - MELVILLE, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 03/22/12 -- The Long Island Capital Alliance ("LICA"), the leading non-profit capital formation and business development organization serving regional companies, today announced the successful completion of the Homeland Security and Defense Capital Forum held on March 9. The event was held in partnership with the Long Island Forum for Technology ("LIFT").
"In our first collaborative effort with LIFT, we are delighted to have achieved considerable success with our Homeland Security and Defense Capital Forum," said Jeffrey L. Bass, Chairman of LICA. "LICA's position as a leading player in capital formation assistance for regional companies is being further enhanced by its transformation through partnerships with other Long Island business-oriented associations. LIFT played a major role as a partner in the recently completed capital forum, particularly by nominating our presenting companies."
Commenting on LICA's Homeland Security and Defense Capital Forum, Scott Meyers, Chief Operating Officer of V.C.O.R.E. Solutions, one of the presenting companies, said, "Unlike other conferences like this one that we have been to in the past, we actually received valuable feedback from industry experts right there at the event... as well as interest from an investor group within hours."
"I'm was very grateful for the opportunity to speak in front a very accomplished group of individuals that the Long Island Capital Association was able to bring together," said Joseph Mallia, Chief Executive Officer of SiCore Technologies. "It provided a great opportunity for SiCore to speak directly to the investment community and receive instant feedback that will be critical to our success as an early stage venture."
Mr. Bass continued, "Aside from their industry orientation and local domicile, the companies selected to present share an important commonality in the potential for significant growth and increased local employment with a capital infusion. Four companies presented to an audience of over 60 investors and other business professionals. We are pleased to report that within a week of the event at least one of them has been approached by a venture capital firm in attendance at the event regarding an investment. LICA and LIFT, working together, has made this possible. We are excited by this success and look forward to additional partnerships in our effort to help other industries and regional companies thrive."
