(firmenpresse) - WASHINGTON, DC -- (Marketwire) -- 03/22/12 -- Avascent, a leading strategy and management consulting firm, announced that Jim Tapp, former head of business development for Northrop Grumman, has joined the firm as an Executive Advisor. "We are excited to have Jim on board," said Steve Irwin, President of Avascent. "Jim's depth of experience across the entire business development lifecycle will enable Avascent to assist both large and emerging firms to optimize their BD processes and approaches," Steve continued.
In his new role, Jim will focus on helping clients adopt more innovative and effective strategies for winning and keeping business during a period of increasing uncertainty. Since being named to the position in 2007, Jim led the corporate BD team to improved acquisition processes, tools and training to win $30B in new business awards annually. Prior to that, Jim served as Vice President for Strategy and Integration for Northrop Grumman's Corporate Government Relations organization and Vice President of Business Development for the Integrated Systems and Aerostructures Sector.
Jim retired from the Air Force as a Colonel following a career as an engineer, aviator, educator and the Air Force liaison officer to the US Senate. He has a Civil Engineering degree from Virginia Tech and an MBA from Auburn University.
