Wood Partners Commences Construction on Streets of Greenbrier Apartment Community in Chesapeake
Project Located Adjacent to Greenbrier Mall Will Include Seven Carriage Buildings Featuring Units With Private Entrances Located Above Garages
(firmenpresse) - CHESAPEAKE, VA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/21/12 -- Wood Partners, L.L.C., the nation's most active multifamily developer, announced today that it has begun construction on Streets of Greenbrier, a luxury apartment community adjacent to the Chesapeake Mall.
Streets of Greenbrier, a $39 million project at 929 Wintercress Way, will include 280 units with one- two- and three-bedroom floor plans, lofts and several carriage units. The community will be open for lease in January 2013, with construction completed in August 2013.
"Chesapeake is one of the stronger, more stable areas in the Tidewater market. It has an excellent economic base and job outlook and a low vacancy rate. Streets of Greenbrier is positioned to establish a new benchmark for the Greenbrier area," said Carter Siegel, Wood Partners director.
The project, which has been in development for several years, will sit on approximately 13.8 acres next to the Greenbrier Mall and within a two-mile radius of Chesapeake's most vibrant shopping, dining and nightlife areas.
In addition to three- and four-story structures, the Streets of Greenbrier will feature seven carriage units, each with two units built over garages.
"The carriage units have been extremely popular in every development we've utilized them," said Siegel. "They provide all the benefits of a first-class amenities package with much more privacy, including a private entrance. They are especially popular with people making the transition from a house to an apartment."
Floor plans will range from 737 to 1,290 square feet. All of the units will have either patios or sun roofs. Amenities include a swimming pool, courtyards with grilling areas, dog park, play area and a car care center for washing and vacuuming vehicles. A clubhouse spanning 5,500 square feet will house a Cyber Café, 24-hour state-of-the-art fitness center and Wii gaming area.
KBS, Inc. is the general contractor and Cline Design Associates is the architect.
