GreenTouch Chairman Gee Rittenhouse and member companies will announce the second major milestone in the group's mission to dramatically improve the energy efficiency of information and communications technology (ICT) networks by a factor of 1,000. GreenTouch is choosing to share this news through an energy-saving webinar, rather than a traditional in-person event, tying into the consortium's green initiatives.
The event will be led by GreenTouch member companies Bell Labs, INRIA, IMEC and Orange. GreenTouch is a consortium of leading ICT industry, academic and non-governmental research experts dedicated to fundamentally transforming communications and data networks, including the Internet, and significantly reducing the carbon footprint of ICT devices, platforms and networks.
