Expanded Allergy Alert: Undeclared Milk in Certain Red Square Brand Powerflax Energy Cookies
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/14/12 -- The public warning issued on March 6, 2012 has been expanded to include additional product.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is warning people with allergies to milk not to consume certain Red Square brand Powerflax Energy Cookies described below. The affected product may contain milk which is not declared on the label.
The affected product, Red Square brand Powerflax Energy Cookie - High Fiber, is sold in a 650 g (8 bar) package bearing UPC 7 75461 76107 3 and lot code 35520.11.
This product has been distributed through London Drugs stores in Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
There has been no reported allergic reaction associated with the consumption of this product.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to milk.
The manufacturer, Perestroika Products Ltd., Burnaby, British Columbia, is voluntarily recalling the affected product from the marketplace. The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
