AtHoc's network and telephony alerting capabilities will integrate with social networks, giant voice/outdoor public address systems, and digital signage to speed emergency notifications across the port.
Using the AtHoc web-based console, operators will be able to quickly communicate with first responders, local government, U.S. Army and commercial and cruise line users at the three main terminals (Blount Island Marine Terminal, the Dames Point Marine Terminal and the Talleyrand Marine Terminal). These terminals handled a total of 8.1 million tons of cargo and more than 520,000 vehicles in fiscal year 2011, making JAXPORT the second largest import and export automobile center in the U.S. In addition, the port houses Carnival Cruise Lines as well as ferry service that operates across the St. John River.
