Calgary Parking Authority: More Than 90 Per Cent of Calgarians Moved Their Vehicles to Comply With the Snow Route Parking Ban
(firmenpresse) - CALGARY, ALBERTA -- (Marketwire) -- 03/07/12 -- Although the (CPA) issued 1,358 to vehicles parked on snow routes throughout the city yesterday, the vast majority of Calgarians complied with the City-issued snow route parking ban.
"More than 90 per cent of Calgarians moved their vehicles from parking restricted snow routes yesterday," said CPA General Manager Troy McLeod. "This certainly represents an improvement in compliance since the last snow event where 4,140 warning notices were issued compared with 1,358 violations."
In December the CPA reported that over 80 per cent compliance was achieved during the first snow route parking ban after they sent out 15,000 courtesy notices and issued 4,140 warning tickets during the first event.
"On behalf of the CPA, I would like to thank Calgarians for moving their vehicles during the parking ban," said McLeod. "People who moved their vehicles helped the City crews do their job more quickly and safely when clearing snow from designated traffic and bus routes."
No vehicles were towed as a result of the . The City of Calgary lifted the ban at 6:00 am this morning.
