24PetWatch(TM) Microchip Sales Continue Strong through February

(TSX: PTZ) ("Pethealth" or the "Company"), North America's leading provider of companion animal RFID technology for lost pet recovery operating in Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom announces continued strong microchip sales through February following record setting sales in January.
The Company sold a total of 127,520 microchips in February, up 46.7% year over year and second only to the record sales in January of 2012, resulting in year over year sales growth for the year to date of over 32%. The increase in sales was driven by growth in the animal shelter channel and increasing interest in the MiniChip™, an innovative new miniature microchip designed for small animals such as cats, kittens, and small breed dogs, launched by the Company in January.
Sales in microchips also helped drive a 26.5% year over year monthly increase in registrations to the Company's 24PetWatch database, with over 100,000 new pets registered last month, bringing the total number of pets registered in the 24PetWatch database to over 5.5 million. The 24PetWatch database plays a key role in Pethealth's insurance and non-insurance operations alike and is supported by an in-house call centre that received over 21,000 inbound calls in February resulting in a record of nearly 7,900 unit sales of identification tags, Emergency Care policies, and annual and lifetime maintenance plans up 32.4% over February 2011, in addition to nearly 15,000 calls received supporting lost pet recovery.
Microchips are sold through the Company's extensive network of shelters, animal welfare groups, and veterinary clinics which totaled 5,657 across the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom last year.
