Accenture and Kauffman FastTrac(R) Announce Courses to Equip U.S. Military Veterans With Skills in Entrepreneurship

(firmenpresse) - KANSAS CITY, MO -- (Marketwire) -- 03/06/12 -- Accenture and Kauffman FastTrac announced today that they are offering two 10-week classes to veterans interested in starting and growing their own companies. The courses, developed by FastTrac with support from Accenture, are designed to help veterans transition into the civilian workforce.

Accenture recently awarded Kauffman FastTrac a grant of nearly $250,000 to help equip veterans with the skills they need to re-enter the workforce. The grant includes training implementation and development of supplemental course materials specifically aimed at veterans. Accenture employees will also help facilitate classes alongside FastTrac-certified instructors who are both veterans and experienced entrepreneurs. The initiative reflects Accenture's initiative, which will equip 250,000 people around the world by 2015 with the skills to get a job or build a business.

The FastTrac curriculum is tailored specifically for veterans seeking to start a new business or expand an existing company. The two classroom-based courses offered include:

Courses will be offered in seven cities across the United States: Atlanta; Fayetteville and Jacksonville, NC; Houston; Kansas City; San Diego and Washington D.C. In addition, online courses will be available to interested U.S. military veterans.
