2012 Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival Presented by FOOD & WINE Toasts to Acclaimed Winemaker Marchese Piero Antinori and Renowned Chef Charlie Trotter

The 11th Annual Tribute Dinner Took Place Saturday, February 25 at the Loews Miami Beach

(firmenpresse) - MIAMI BEACH, FL -- (Marketwire) -- 03/02/12 -- Dedicated wine and culinary enthusiasts, as well as friends and colleagues from the industry, all raised a glass this past weekend to Marchese Piero Antinori and Chef Charlie Trotter at the Loews Miami Beach for an unprecedented celebration. The Tribute Dinner presented by Bank of America, and part of The New York Times dinner series, was part of the 11th Annual Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival presented by FOOD & WINE.

"It was a true honor to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at this year's Festival," said Marchese Piero Antinori, whose family has been making wine in Italy for more than 625 years and 26 generations. "The evening was very special for me -- a chance to connect with old and new friends over a delicious dinner prepared by some of the top chefs in America alongside our family's wines."

"To be honored alongside Piero Antinori and to be recognized in the esteemed company of past honorees such as Ferran Adrià and Alain Ducasse is incredibly gratifying," replied Charlie Trotter. "As I look to August and the celebration of my 25 years in the industry, this evening will be one of my most memorable distinctions."

The evening was emceed by author and host of Travel Channel's No Reservations Anthony Bourdain and included a random act of culture by the Florida Grand Opera. All participating chefs were presented with a personalized gift from Maximilian Riedel and Hublot provided an exquisite timepiece for honoree Charlie Trotter. The menu and wine pairings were as follows:

Matsuhisa, a classically trained sushi-chef who embraces cultural influences from places such as Peru and Argentina, is the acclaimed and highly influential chef proprietor of Nobu Matsuhisa and Ubon restaurants located across three continents.
