A variety of utilities, including units of (NYSE:AEP) (Columbus, Ohio), (NYSE:DUK) (Charlotte, North Carolina) and (NYSE:FE) (Akron, Ohio), are working in collaboration with the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) (Palo Alto, California) to identify the root cause of the problem and determine a remedy. There has been some litigation between affected and engineering and construction companies.
