hagedorn presents new business models
The hagedorn GmbH, leading provider of knife technology and paper cutting tools, is orientating its presence at this year's drupa towards "new business models and earning potentials for entrepreneurs, merchants and founders of new businesses all over the world." In practical terms, the family enterprise will present a fully equipped mobile "grinding container", including all required machines and equipment for the first time. It can be purchased and used all over the world for the reprocessing of knives. The second presented business model deals with marketing the extremely successful high-performance knife VITECH. Entrepreneurs and merchants worldwide, who want to take part in the marketing success, can negotiate a corresponding resale agreement with the company. VITECH knives are characterized by a much longer service life than carbide-tipped knives. They can perform up to 60,000 cuts without requiring grinding.
(firmenpresse) - According to Dipl.-Ing. Horst Hagedorn, the senior of the three-member management crew of the company: "From the statistics, we know that knife quality is responsible for about 70 percent of the cutting problems in the printing and finishing businesses. Sometimes it is due to a lack of knowledge about knives, sometimes the knives used do not represent state-of-the-art technology, or there are problems with grinding and reprocessing." For the entrepreneur, who manages the company with both of his sons, this means that: the demand for high knife quality, as well as high-quality knife reprocessing will greatly increase in the years to come due to the growing importance of knife and grinding technology, especially in countries where the printing industry is subject to hard media competition, or where the infrastructure is under-developed. Hagedorn states: "With the business models we will be presenting at drupa, we offer interested entrepreneurs from all over the world a great opportunity to benefit from these potentials."
The container just has to be connected
The rule is: The hagedorn partner should be able to profit rapidly and easily from the potentials. This is why grinding and straightening machines are already installed in the 20-foot grinding container, as well as a working station with a workbench and cabinets for knife storage, and a desk and chairs. Thus, the operator only has to position the unit, connect it to the high voltage power supply, and can then get to work. This is feasible because the familiarization and training are also provided. Hagedorn: "It is possible for anyone with the technical knowledge and experience of metal working to operate the grinding container." Already established grinding shops can also purchase individual components from the container system, including the transfer of know-how.
VITECH Knives
The second business model that will be presented at the fair relates to the VITECH high-performance knives. Introduced a few years ago in Germany, their quality is in great demand on the market due to their significantly longer service life compared to carbide tipped knives. The VITECH knives, standing out with a service life of up to 60,000 cuts without regrinding, are significantly growing in popularity. The fact that VITECH knives are part of the "HMS" outsourcing system by hagedorn has also contributed to this success. With HMS, customers receive a customized knife allotment as standard equipment. If regrinding is required, the knives are automatically collected and are replaced with new ones if necessary. Today, far more than 500 printing plants and finishing businesses in Germany regularly use VITECH knives.
Hagedorn: "Based on the success of the VITECH knives, we would like to expand the marketing and distribution, and are looking for suitable entrepreneurs interested in negotiating a reseller agreement with us. In addition to merchants, existing grinding shops could be interested, but also grinding container operators."
