MIT Latin American Conference to Spotlight Competing on a Global Scale
Brazilian Vice President Among Slated Speakers
(firmenpresse) - CAMBRIDGE, MA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/28/12 -- What can the world learn from past Latin American economic crises? What strategies are helping local companies to go global? And how best can Latin America build bridges to other emerging markets?
On March 10, 2012, top Latin American business leaders, government figures, and academics will gather under MIT's iconic dome in Cambridge, Massachusetts to explore the fundamentals of shaping a new development cycle during the XV MIT Latin American Conference. This year's theme, "Local Roots, Global Reach," will address the topic of internationalization and competing on a global scale.
, vice president of the Federative Republic of Brazil, will serve as a keynote speaker. Temer is currently presiding over two high-level bilateral diplomatic committees with representatives from China and Russia.
Additional keynote speakers are a Chilean politician and statesman who is the secretary general of the Organization of American States; and former CEO of Vale, one of Brazil's largest diversified mining companies.

The MIT Latin American Conference is the oldest Latin American Conference among U.S. business schools. Entirely led by MIT Sloan students, the conference aims to promote greater involvement of the international community in the development of Latin America, to increase the awareness of investment opportunities in the region, and to inspire future leaders to become ethical, innovative change makers in Latin America. Each year, approximately 300 people, among them students, business leaders, politicians, and academics come from across MIT and different parts of the world to attend the conference that discusses issues such as entrepreneurship, finance, sustainability, politics, and private equity.
