Classical Artists Development Foundation (CADF) to Host World Class Studio Performance Series on February 26, March 3 and April 7, 2012
(firmenpresse) - AUSTIN, TX -- (Marketwire) -- 02/23/12 -- The Classical Artists Development Foundation (CADF), a non-profit organization nurturing and promoting the careers of gifted young Texas musicians, today announced its upcoming concerts on February 26, March 3 and April 7, 2012. All concerts are free and open to the public.
February 26
Co-sponsored by the Sarah and Ernest Butler School of Music and CADF, the upcoming performance of the World Class Studio Performance Series will feature outstanding violin students of Professor Brian Lewis' teaching studio. The concert will take place at 4 pm, on Sunday, February 26, 2012 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 4700 Grover Avenue, Austin, Texas, 78756.
Recognized as one of the nation's finest teachers, Professor Lewis currently serves as Professor of Violin at the University of Texas at Austin, Artistic Director of the Starling-DeLay Symposium on Violin Studies at The Juilliard School, and Class of '57 Visiting Professor of Music at The Yale School of Music. One of the most versatile and charismatic violinists ever, Professor Lewis is an exceptionally dedicated and gifted performer whose passionate artistry has been heard and embraced around the world.
March 3
The concert will take place at 4:00 pm on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church. It will feature the great classical music written for oboe and will showcase the outstanding students from the teaching studio of Professor Rebecca Henderson. Known as one of the nation's finest teachers, Professor Henderson is currently Professor of Oboe at the UT Butler School of Music as well as serves on the faculties of the International Festival Institute at Round Top in Texas and the Marrowstone Music Festival in Bellingham, Washington. She was a prize winner in the 1995 New York International Competition for Solo Oboists and in the 1988 Lucarelli International Solo Oboe Competition.
April 7
The concert will take place at 4:00 pm on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at the First Unitarian Universalist Church and feature flute students from the teaching studio of Professor Marianne Gedigian.
Complimentary receptions have also been scheduled after these concerts where hors d'oeuvres and beverages will be served along with the opportunity to meet and talk with the performers.
Founded in 2007, the Classical Artists Development Foundation (CADF) is a non-profit organization that nurtures the careers of gifted young Texas musicians by providing financial and professional support to launch their professional careers. It also sponsors live classical music performances in Texas public schools, the greater Austin community, and national performance venues.
