(firmenpresse) - TORONTO, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/22/12 -- KNIGHTSCOVE MEDIA CORP. (TSX VENTURE: KC.A)(TSX VENTURE: KC.B) () ("Knightscove"), is pleased to announce that SOPHIE, a feature film produced by subsidiary Knightscove Family Films Inc., is now available to own on DVD.
Distributed on DVD by Alliance Films Inc., SOPHIE stars Brittany Bristow in the title role as a girl whose life is focused on two great loves; ballet and animals. When her beloved elephant, Sheba, is sold to a travelling circus, Sophie sets out to reclaim her - embarking on an unforgettable adventure! SOPHIE also stars John Rhys-Davies (Indiana Jones & the Last Crusade, The Lord of the Rings Trilogy) and Erica Durance who plays Lois Lane on TV's Smallville.
Along with the DVD release, SOPHIE also enjoyed its premiere on Movie Central ("Movie Central") on Saturday, February 18th 2012 and continues to be available through the on demand channel. Movie Central operates west of the Ontario-Manitoba border, including the Canadian territories, and delivers blockbuster Hollywood hits and boundary-pushing HBO and Showcase series.
SOPHIE has played at film festivals around the world to much acclaim, including the prestigious Heartland Film Festival in October 2011, and enjoyed an exclusive theatrical run in Canada in the fall of 2011. SOPHIE's next festival stop will be the Sedona International Film Festival where it will play on Wednesday, February 22nd and Saturday, February 25th 2012. SOPHIE's premiere on Movie Central follows its presentation on The Movie Network ("TMN") in November 2011.
