"Jennifer and her family have been through so much -- living with cancer while trying to create as normal a life as possible," said author and designer Annie Selke. "Jennifer needed a place to rest and relax, a haven to gather her thoughts and the strength to face what the next day might bring. Somewhere she could find a tiny bit of time for herself. I loved meeting this extraordinary family and doing my tiny part to add a touch of comfort to the challenging path they are on."
For the March issue's makeover, Selke redesigned the bedroom in the Refined Romantic style as highlighted in her recently released book, "Fresh American Spaces" (Clarkson Potter, 2011), creating an elegant, intimate retreat for Jennifer and her husband, John. This redesign is the second in a series of makeovers based on Selke's Fresh American Spaces. The first makeover appeared in the November 2011 issue, and subsequent makeovers will appear in the June and July issues of Woman's Day.
