Valentine's Day Poll Offers Advice on Best Discount Dates Across Canada

For most, it was all about saving, snuggling, and skating. From free walks in the snow to home-cooked dinners, for Canadians, showing the love is all about the company over the cash. Walks through parks and skating on free outdoor rinks were the top suggestions for celebrating Valentine's Day on a budget.
Locally, respondents skated the national trend, but just barely. The people of Halifax are a bit more open with their wallets, with 45.4% of respondents willing to shell out $33 per couple for Sleigh & Carriage Rides at Hatfield Farms.
However, many people (39.5%) were equally happy to enjoy free skating at Oval at the Common. Meanwhile, a $2 visit to the Dartmouth Heritage Museum topped the list for 12.7% respondents, while 2.4% were willing to part with $5 per person for a tour of the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic.
