More Than 220 Top Athletes From Around the World Competed at World Renowned Rhythmic Gymnastics Competition
2012 Summer Olympics Hopeful -- Liubov Charkashyna of Belarus -- Ranks #1 in Level 10 Senior All Around Competition, Sponsored by Los Angeles School of Gymnastics
(firmenpresse) - LOS ANGELES, CA -- (Marketwire) -- 02/08/12 -- This past weekend, Olympians and top athletes from USA, Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Armenia, China and Canada competed at the 2012 LA Lights Tournament of Champions at the Helen Bernstein High School in Los Angeles, Calif. The top three ranked gymnasts included:
Katsiaryna Galkina (Belarus Gymnastics Association): Total Score: 101.1500
Elena Bolotina (Belarus Gymnastics Association) Total Score: 100.3250
Maria Kadobina (Belarus Gymnastics Association) Total Score: 99.6500
Liubov Charkashyna (Belarus Gymnastics Association): Total Score: 110.1250
Charkashyna will be competing in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games and was the 2011 World Championship Bronze Medalist.
Anna Rizatdinova (Ukraine Team) Total Score: 109.3500
Alina Maksymenko (Ukraine Team) Total Score: 107.6500

2012 LA Lights Tournament of Champions is sponsored by Los Angeles School of Gymnastics (LASG) and sanctioned by the International Gymnastics Federation (IGF). The LA Lights Tournament of Champions serves as the primary route for major international tournaments including the World Championship and the Olympic Games.
Some of the top gymnasts who competed at this event included Melitina Staniouta (who will compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games and ranks #6 on the 2011 World Ranking List), Aliaksandra Narkevich (who will compete in the 2012 Summer Olympic Games and ranks #14 on the 2011 World Ranking List), as well as LASG gymnasts Heather Chan, Shirley Gon-Gibbs and Elizabeth Petrosyan (2011 VISA USA National Qualifiers).
LASG, one of the top gymnastics studios in the nation, is headed by executive director Alla Svirsky -- a four-time Olympic Coach and a USA Gymnastics Inductee to the Hall of Fame.
