Southwestern Electric Power Company (SWEPCO) (Shreveport, Louisiana), a subsidiary of (NYSE:AEP) (Columbus, Ohio), has been building the 600-MW John W. Turk Jr. Power Plant, the nation's first ultra-supercritical coal-fired generator, since late 2008.
