(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/12 -- Following their immensely successful US tour as support to The Civil Wars, Atlantic recording group The Staves are pleased to announce plans for another US tour. The UK-based sibling trio will be among the acts featured on "The Austin To Boston Tour," presented by the acclaimed artist-led collective, Communion. The dates will get underway on March 14th with a series of showcase performances at the upcoming South by Southwest® Music & Media Conference (SXSW®) in Austin, Texas and then continue through to a March 31st concert at Boston's Berklee College of Music (see itinerary below).
"The Austin To Boston Tour" -- which also features Ben Howard, Nathaniel Rateliff, and Bear's Den -- will see The Staves and their fellow touring artists traveling the country in a fleet of vintage VW Camper Vans. The artists will be accompanied on the trek by filmmaker Marcus Haney, who will capture the tour's essence with daily interviews, travelogues, and live performance footage. For more, please visit .
With their unique vocal harmonies and haunting melodies, The Staves have quickly earned attention as one of 2012's most extraordinary new talents. The sisters -- Emily, Jessica, and Camilla Staveley-Taylor -- have already been tipped for success by a wide range of publications both here and in their native United Kingdom. Vogue named The Staves as its "Band of the Week," praising the group's recently released "MEXICO" EP for possessing "a world-weariness reminiscent of Joni Mitchell's 'LADIES OF THE CANYON.'" Time Out New York declared The Staves to be among "the year's breakthrough artists," applauding the trio's "subtlety, grace and charm." "These girls are good," advised Nylon, "so go ahead and jump on The Staves bandwagon early."
The Staves are slated to release their eagerly awaited debut album later in the year. The as-yet-untitled collection is co-produced by the legendary Glyn Johns (The Who, Led Zeppelin, The Rolling Stones) and Ethan Johns (Kings of Leon, Laura Marling, Paolo Nutini), marking the first time father and son have shared production credits. In the meantime, fans signing up for The Staves' newsletter will receive two exclusive downloads, recorded live at London's Cecil Sharp House. Please see for complete details.
