Media Advisory: Governor General to Attend the Dedication Ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Window in Senate Foyer
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/06/12 -- His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will attend the dedication ceremony of the Senate Diamond Jubilee window in honour of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. The event will take place on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at 10 a.m., in the Senate Foyer, Centre Block, Parliament Buildings. The Honourable Noel A. Kinsella, Speaker of the Senate, and the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage, will also be present.
The Diamond Jubilee window was created to celebrate the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's reign and to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. The window is a gift to Her Majesty The Queen from the Senate of Canada. It is located over the Senate entrance to the Parliament Buildings.
