Media Advisory: Inaugural Presentation Ceremony of the Diamond Jubilee Medal at Rideau Hall
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 02/03/12 -- On Monday, February 6, 2012, at 10:00 a.m., at Rideau Hall, His Excellency the Right Honourable David Johnston, Governor General of Canada, will preside over the inaugural presentation ceremony of the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal, along with the Right Honourable Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada. This ceremony will mark the 60th anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II's accession to the Throne as Queen of Canada.
The Diamond Jubilee Medal will be presented to 60 recipients from across the country and various walks of life. This event will launch Diamond Jubilee Week, from February 6 to 12, 2012.
The names of the recipients and their short citations will be released on the day of the ceremony. Additional information about the Diamond Jubilee Medal program is available at .
Media interested in covering this event must be accredited with the Parliamentary Press Gallery and confirm their attendance in advance with the Rideau Hall Press Office (). Media must arrive at the Princess Anne Entrance no later than 9:40 a.m. on the day of the ceremony.
