Rural/Metro Wins 911 Contract to Continue as Exclusive Ambulance Provider to the City of Tacoma, Washington
(firmenpresse) - SCOTTSDALE, AZ -- (Marketwire) -- 02/02/12 -- Rural/Metro Corporation, a leading national provider of ambulance transportation and private fire protection services, announced today that it has been awarded the exclusive contract to continue as the 911 ambulance service in the City of Tacoma, Washington. The contract was won on a unanimous vote of the Tacoma City Council this week, following a competitive bidding process.
The new agreement begins April 1, 2012 for an initial six-year term, followed by four one-year optional renewal periods, for a total possible length of 10 years.

Rural/Metro has provided ambulance transportation services in Tacoma and throughout Pierce County since 2004 and is the only EMS agency in the state of Washington to receive national accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services.
Rural/Metro employees provide nearly 19,000 911-emergency transports in Tacoma annually, in addition to non-emergency interfacility services to hospital systems and healthcare facilities throughout the county. These services include Advanced Life Support, Basic Life Support and Critical Care Transport, as well as dedicated staff and specialized ambulances for neonatal and pediatric ICU patients.
