Live Controlled Burn Training - 40+ local and regional firefighters
The non-profit Fire Smoke Coalition will host a live controlled burn training that will demonstrate proper usage of atmospheric monitoring equipment with a primary focus on Hydrogen Cyanide (HCN) and Carbon Monoxide (CO) that are inherent in fire smoke.
The training is a part of a larger event, the "Know Your Smoke" Symposium that RAE Systems and the Fire Smoke Coalition () are delivering this weekend to Los Angeles-based firefighters and first responders. The symposium will address the dangers of fire smoke and provides information from leading experts on smoke toxicity, how to prevent the exposure and appropriately treat if an out of air situation occurs.

The Fire Smoke Coalition, a division of the Cyanide Poisoning Treatment Coalition (CPTC), is a 501(c)(3) non-profit comprised of firefighters and medical personnel.
