Ash Improvement Technology Signs Multi-Year Agreement to Treat Ash and Slag in Vietnam
(firmenpresse) - NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 01/24/12 -- Ash Improvement Technology, Inc. (AIT) announced today that it signed an agreement with Shengli Steel of Vietnam to convert ash and slag waste products into a cement substitute material. The 5-year contract was awarded for Shengli's site located in the Thai Binh province and encompasses treatment of approximately 60,000 annual tons of material for local and export markets.
AIT will apply its proprietary CleanCem™ process, which was developed to treat coal ash via introduction of proprietary additives in the boiler system. Ash chemistry and mineralogy are modified in the process to attain the performance of a high value cement substitute.
Vietnam represents a sizeable opportunity for the application of AIT's technology, with more than ninety new coal-fired power plants currently under construction, and a strong local demand for construction materials.
