19th Arrest and Ninth Removal of Individuals Wanted by the CBSA
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/21/12 -- The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) today announced the apprehension of Steven Mark Nairn and the removal of Tharmapaskaran Sellathamby. Both are listed on the CBSA "Wanted" list.
Nairn was apprehended by CBSA inland enforcement officers on January 20 without incident in Surrey, British Columbia, following tips from the Canadian public. He is currently in CBSA custody.
Nairn is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality. He has been convicted of unlawful possession of cocaine and heroin along with five counts of robbery in Canada.
Tharmapaskaran Sellathamby is the ninth individual from the CBSA "Wanted" list to be removed. He was apprehended by the Toronto Police Service in the Greater Toronto Area January 11, 2012. He is inadmissible to Canada for serious criminality for being convicted of aggravated assault.
To date, as a result of the "Wanted by the CBSA" program, Canadians have assisted in locating 19 individuals in Canada and four individuals abroad. The CBSA has removed nine of these individuals from Canada.
Members of the public are reminded that they should not take action to apprehend the individuals listed on the CBSA Web site. Any information on the whereabouts of these wanted individuals should be reported to the CBSA Border Watch Line at 1-888-502-9060.
