Grayslake Orthodontist Buys Private Practice in Gurnee
(firmenpresse) - GRAYSLAKE, IL and GURNEE, IL -- (Marketwire) -- 01/21/12 -- Dr. Michael Stosich of iDentity Orthodontics is putting his specialized training and research experience to work in the Grayslake children's and adult orthodontics practice he purchased in December.
Stosich's purchase of the practice from Dr. Yan Razdolsky is a long-term partnership, as both orthodontists continue to work together. He views private practice as the optimum way of applying his training in the area of craniofacial reconstruction to treat simple to severe orthodontic cases.
The university-trained SureSmile and completed an orthodontic residency and four-year craniofacial fellowship that involved stem cell research in addition to participating in extensive collaborations at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
This education gives Stosich a unique skill set that few orthodontists achieve.
"I see this area as the future of medicine," says. "To use someone's own cells to regenerate parts of their body is amazing. I feel my training on the UPenn craniofacial team will enable me to bring my patients outstanding treatment."
The orthodontic applications of this specialized training include bone regeneration through moving the teeth, different types of biomechanics, and providing ideal treatment for patients with cleft lip/cleft palate.
"We learn a great deal about tooth movement when we're treating the complicated cases," he says. "That knowledge is useful in determining the most efficient ways to achieve the necessary movements when treating less severe cases, so the two extremes certainly dovetail."
The culmination of all this training, combined with the opportunity to work closely with Razdolsky left Stosich excited to enter private practice.

Dr. Michael Stosich attended the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia and earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. He then pursued critical specialty training in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics at Temple University and also received a Master's Degree. He was awarded the Coben Scholar in Orthodontics. He went on to complete a four-year craniofacial fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania and The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
Prior to making a commitment to orthodontics, Dr. Stosich trained at the University of Illinois and Columbia University for his undergraduate and graduate degrees in bioengineering.
