NEP Solar wins Swiss government grant for collector cost reduction and certification
NEP Solar AG and testing institute SPF Rapperswil receive KTI government grant for collector cost reduction and certification
(PresseBox) - NEP Solar AG, developer of concentrating solar thermal collectors, and the research institute SPF Rapperswil are among the winners selected from over 1000 grant applications to the Swiss Commission for Technology and Innovation (KTI) scheme for cooperation between research institutes and industry. The grant will allow NEP Solar to accelerate progress towards cost reduction, collector certification and opening up of new application segments.
In the course of 18 months, the two institutions will work together on:
- Design optimization and cost reduction of the PolyTrough 1800 parabolic trough collector for process heat.
- Performance testing of NEP Solar collectors at the new high temperature test loop at SPF.
- Solar Keymark certification of the NEP Solar collectors.
- Direct steam generation with injection into the district heating steam network in Basel, Switzerland.
