Photo Release: Minister Oda Travels to Haiti
(firmenpresse) - OTTAWA, ONTARIO -- (Marketwire) -- 01/11/12 -- The Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, today visited a Canadian project to observe results achieved.
Minister Oda met with students at the Anne Marie Javouhey Public Elementary School in Petionville. Through the School Feeding Program implemented by the World Food Programme, the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) ensures that students attending this school receive a daily meal consisting of rice and beans. CIDA's contribution to the World Food Programme in Haiti ensures that 400,000 schoolchildren receive a nutritious meal every day.
Minister Oda also visited a classroom where she engaged into a discussion with school children.
